A policy brief on “COVID-19 Impact on Public Transport and Safe Revival: Practices and Innovations” was handed over to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Government of Nepal on 26 April 2021 by NIURS. The handover meeting was held in presence of Er. Rabindra Nath Shrestha, Secretary, Er. Keshav Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, Er. Dipak Kumar Bhattarai, Joint Secretary, Mr. Devi Prasad Gyawali, Joint Secretary, Er. Shankar Singh Dhami, Senior Divisional Engineer of MOPIT and Ar. Kishore Thapa, Policy Analyst, Dr. Ajay C Lal, Data Analyst and Er. Ranjan Bhatta, Project Manager/Executive Director of NIURS. The policy brief was an output of research on “Evaluating the Economic Impact and Infection Control Measures of COVID-19 in the Public Transport Sector”. The research was carried out by NIURS in research collaboration with High Volume Transport Applied Research Programme implemented by IMC Worldwide and funded by UKAid.
